Descente's Wool Retro Jersey.Descente started back in 1935 when Takeo Ishimoto opened his first retail shop in Osaka, Japan and launched the modern technical apparel revolution. By 1949 the company focused exclusively on sports apparel. This was a natural for a company named after the French word for going downhill. And the company's logo is equally active, those familiar three arrows, which symbolize the basic skiing techniques: straight running, side slipping and traversing. This logo also represents the ceaseless pursuit of perfection in sporting apparel: function, innovation and quality, tied together through integrity.

Descente expanded into North America in 1979 and quickly became a sport icon. Since then, Descente has outfitted competitors from Andy Hampsten, the first American to win the Giro d'Italia, to Olympian Eric Heiden, to the CSC Pro cycling squad, to lifestyle athletes all over the world.

Descente's Strata Chamois.Descente uses only the world’s most technically advanced designs and materials to bring you the best-fitting, most comfortable clothing on two wheels. Take their top-tier Strata Chamois, which makes their Strata and Optima shorts incredibly comfortable. It's comprised of multiple pieces, which are just the right density and can move independently, too. Plus, the sections are radio-frequency welded to eliminate seams and ensure top comfort. And, impressively, from their highest-end to recreational-level Descente's Optima shorts!shorts, Descent's cutting-edge technology is shared ensuring excellent comfort and function in all their products.

As any cyclist knows, there's often a significant difference between “rack appeal” and how something fits when you're actually riding. Descente never sacrifices functionality for rack appeal or marketing concepts. You can see it in their front and back rise differentials, their contoured collars, extra sleeve lengths, tapered and contoured front panel constructions, extra-long index fingers on gloves and in many other features.

In short, when you're looking for the ultimate in cycling apparel, think Descente!
